Surprise Pit 1990
My first visit to Fern Cave was on June 9, 1990 to bounce 404 foot deep 'Surprise Pit'. I did not return to Fern again until November 17, 2007. This time to assist with the Fern Cave System surveying project.
Fern is an amazing cave. It has over 15 miles of mapped passages. Numerous deep pits and "bottomless" canyon passages. A colony of 1.5 million endangered gray bats. The list goes on and on...
